Headaches

A frequently overlooked cause of headaches or migraines is a problem with the joints or vertebra of the neck and upper back. When vertebra of the spine lose their normal motion, sensitive nerves and blood vessels to the head can be affected. When nerves are affected, pain is commonly referred to the base of the skull, temporal regions or to the forehead area.  When blood vessels are affected, migraine headache pain often is the result. Aspirin and medications may cover up these warning signs, but do not correct the underlying cause.

Many people find relief with chiropractic care. If a thorough examination reveals reduced range of motion, loss of normal spinal curves, need for postural correction, muscle shortening or joint restrictions, chiropractic care for the neck should be considered.
